Description: 'Madara' is simply spectacular!
Generally green over the winter months, it is throughout summer when this stunner shows it true beauty by displaying rosettes with vibrant splashes of bronze and red, then developing into a deep shade of purple.
This is a tall and robust growing cultivar which will branch readily.
Plant Care: Best grown in the ground to reach its full potential but must be grown in good light to bring out the best colours.
Origins: A selected form of Aeonium arboreum. Unfortunately there is not a lot of information available on this cultivar but it was initially introduced by Succulents Australia.
Comments: There are naturally three varieties of Aeonium arboreum: Aeonium arboreum var. arboreum, Aeonium arboreum var. holochrysum & Aeonium arboreum var. rubrolineatum. We are of the assumption that its origins lie with either the variety holochrysum or rubrolineatum, but at present we are not 100% sure and are waiting for our stock to flower to help identify this cultivar.
