Description: 'Milky White' is a beautiful light coloured variegate, forming a lovely clump of rounded shaped rosettes. Throughout the warmer months the variegation is a lovely mix of green and pale yellow, with a soft touch of red on the outer leaves. As the weather cools and the plants are more actively growing, the colours transition to a soft tone of creamy white and light green.
Even at the peak of summer the creamy white colour never truly disappears, remaining present in the centre of the rosette.
Overall this is a stunning Aeonium, forming a lovely shaped clump of variegated rosettes.
Plant Care: Easy to grow and look after.
Origins: Thought to be variegated form of Aeonium 'Madeira Rose', which is also known by the name 'Halloween' in Asia.
Comments: To make sense of exactly which Aeonium species or cultivar each new variegate is being developed from and then the name given to each new variety, is becoming a very complex issue.
We believe most of the new variegates are coming from Asia and with multiple companies distributing the same product, it is not uncommon for each company to give the same cultivar a different name. Additionally, we have noticed that once the plants are outside of Asia, often the names are changed again. It’s becoming extremely frustrating and an obvious concern to the collector not wanting to purchase the same plant twice under different names.
There are also appears to be several different variegated forms of 'Madeira Rose' / 'Halloween' available, all with different colours.
So far, we have also seen this particular form sold as 'Halloween' variegate No. 3, 'Halloween Cream', 'Halloween White and Aeonium 'Milk White'.
We have settled on the name Aeonium 'Milky White' and from the extensive research we have done, this seems to fit best with how it is now being sold around the world.
