Description: 'Phoenix Crown' is an interesting little hybrid which is believed to be a cross between Aeonium 'Madeira Rose' and Aeonium diplocyclum.

The plants certainly show strong characteristics towards A. diplocyclum and share the same growth habit of remaining a single, solitary rosette. The colours though are very beautiful and with good sunlight the plants will develop a lovely splash of purple on the upper leaf margins, particularly on the undersides of the rosette.

Over winter as they plants are actively growing they tend to be predominantly green in colour, with the striking purple colours developing throughout dormancy or when stressed.

To bring out the best colours, grow plants in a location with good strong light, avoiding the hot afternoon summer sun.

Plants are generally monocarpic (remaining only a single rosette), but with care the centre of the rosette can be removed to encourage the growth of multiple new heads.

Plant Care: Easy to grow and look after. Best suited to growing in a decorative pot.

Origins: From the research we have conducted, it is believed to be a hybrid between Aeonium 'Madeira Rose' and Aeonium diplocyclum.

Comments: Although not hard to grow, it is unfortunately a hard cultivar to propagate and we will generally never have many plants available at any one time.
