Description: The very beautiful variegated form of Aeonium x hybridum.
Although not as vigorous as A. hybridum, plants will form a lovely multiheaded clusters to around 20cm x 20cm. Throughout winter the rosettes display a lovely green, cream and yellow coloured variegation, developing a beautiful shade of pink on the older foliage throughout the summer period and when in dormancy. Throughout summer it is common from the rosettes to completely close, being reduced to tight cylindrical balls.
Plant Care: Easy to grow and look after.
Origins: Aeonium x hybridum is a hybrid between the species Aeonium simsii x Aeonium spathulatum. This is the variegated form which was developed in Asia.
Comments: Also sold as Aeonium 'Batu' in Asia and now also sold under the name Aeonium 'Custard' in France.
We have also seen this sold under the name Aeonium simsii variegate which is incorrect.
As with the hybrid Aeonium x hybridum, this is NOT to be confused with the species Aeonium simsii. Although the superficially look similar, they are very different.
